Designing sustainable systems for cities on Earth and infrastructure in space
Digital transformation, data intelligence, and sustainability strategy across smart cities and the space economy.
Digital transformation, data intelligence, and sustainability strategy across smart cities and the space economy.
Illumulus is a global strategy and research organization focused on the governance, coordination, and technical challenges of complex infrastructure systems. We work across space and urban systems, applying comparative systems analysis to improve how information is generated, shared, and used for operational continuity and sustainability.
Systems-level analysis that identifies coordination challenges, failure modes, and information gaps in multi-actor infrastructure systems—producing practical, evidence-based frameworks.
Policy and operational guidance for governments, operators, and industry partners to design interoperable systems, governance structures, and trusted information flows.
Digital prototypes, data products, and platform designs that translate analysis and guidance into actionable, verifiable digital assets that support real-world operations.
Illumulus studies why coordination fails even when data exists. Our work focuses on information architectures, governance design, and human factors across two distinct domains: Space Systems (SSA, space traffic coordination, operator interoperability) and Urban Systems (data governance, smart infrastructure, resilience). We do not conflate domains, we analyze shared system behaviors and practical fixes that scale.
Improve operational safety by reducing information friction among operators.
Enable sustainable, scalable infrastructure through better governance and data practices.
Translate research into implementable policy and product recommendations.
